Amarra symphony irc manual7/30/2023 ![]() ![]() See the finalised sound curve below, I saved this to create the filter file used by Amarra. The computer used was a Mac Mini (as an aside i had tried REW - Room EQ wizard but It fails to measure input from mic even though the mic works with other apps successfully on the same computer). I also did not have a calibration file for my Behringer ECM8000 mic (not sure if that is significant?. This step I rushed so I am not sure how accurately I completed this STEP. I chose chair (see attached picture) which requires 8 measurements just in front, left and right etc of listening position. With basic parametric EQ I've always preferred to do it manually, remembering well the disasters of earlier Audessey and DEQ2496 auto correction, but with rephasing I've been waiting for some DEQX-like pluging that could do it for me, after looking at the OpenDRC route and being a bit put off by having to wrap my head around convolver engines (not to mention having to buy a Windows computer to get it done) Edited Septemby b.dĭiRAC (it is called "IRC Measure") that comes with Amarra only gives you 3 options for measuring a chair, sofa and auditorium. It also could only be correcting for phase shift on the filters that we assign, its not performing a sweep and attempting to correct the phase it measures, eg room induced phase shift as well as woofer roll-off and crossover phase shift etc.Īt least, Amarra seems to have a first here with a plugin that does its EQ and whatever else automatically. It was my understanding that 'linear phase' does not go to the extent of DEQX (or rePhase plugin with minidsp's OpenDRC FIR box) in fully correcting for EQ based phase shift. It offers a choice of linear phase or minimum phase. I've got the Fabfilter pluging for Pure Music and Audirvana.
